hiraeth: (noun)
a homesickness for a home you can't return to, or one that was never yours.
i keep relating the thought of you to this one word, hiraeth. hiraeth. i don't quite know why, but you have always meant home to me. maybe because home is where your family is. and your smile is so familiar to me. your eyes are so familiar to me, your face is so familiar to me, your voice is so familiar to me. you bring me this feeling of happiness and belonging that i've experienced so little in my life, one that i believe you are only able to experience once you find your place on earth. i found my place in the act of loving you and looking up to you. i'll never be able to explain how much of homesickness i get everytime i'm far from seeing you. and how much you inspired me to be my best self, the-hard-worker-one, the-positive-one, the-caring-one. maybe that's what family is supposed to do.
